System Sand is one of the operating materials of every locomotive. In order to increase the friction when starting and braking, especially in difficult weather conditions, it is scattered from the sand containers of the locomotive via pipes between the wheel and the rail. This sand is refilled in the depots as well as coal and water or diesel. The Auhagen model is based on a standard design which, for example, was and is in use in the Berlin-Schöneweide depot and Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The model is very filigree. The position of the storage container next to the tower can be freely selected. The connection is made using a flexible hose. Elevations are included for use with the bedding track. Original model
